Our first Trophy Hunting

"Knights Of Ni" officially announces that

from Monday 19/08 till 25/08

our clan will do our first test "Trophy hunting week"!

It's a test ... only a test ... nobody is being forced to partecipate ...
so please don't shout

but everyone is welcome to partecipate!

Trophies are how you are measured in the game. Think of them as a rating, using a system similar to the chess ELO scoring system. When you win a match, you are awarded trophies and when you lose a match, you lose trophies, which are given to your opponent.

Before partecipating consider

Elixer is king, gold is a bonus. You will need huge quantities of elixir so you better fill your storages before you start hunting!

Never try to attain trophies and resources at the same time. If you do not focus your efforts on one or the other, you will be very inefficient at doing both.

Only make a trophy push after you are happy with your current progress in the game. Once you are focused on trophies, your base progression will nearly grind to a halt.

Your town hall should be placed in the center of your base and protected above all else. If an attacker manages to destroy your town hall, it’s an automatic loss of trophies for you.

Your troop composition will vary based on your trophy level. Up to 2000 trophies, you can quickly gain ground with just archers and barbarians.

After 2000 things get a bit hectic and tedious. You'll need to add more expensive troops in the mix, like wizards.
You may use the following troops setup:
18 giants
8 wizards
The rest archers and wall breaker depending on personal preference.

Snipe undefended town halls, but pay attention to hidden teslas or clan castles, Archer Queens and Barbarian Kings that are postitioned next to it. Otherwise you will need more troops than desired. Usually 2 archers are enough to get 1 star. Once the TH is destroyed you could attack other defenses or collectors, mines to gain more trophies but always consider if it's worth it. Never use too many troops without getting repaid.

Try not to pick targets that can revenge you and win (maxed th9s)

One of the best troop setup for trophy hunting is:
- 4 Wallbreakers
- 12 Giants
- 64 Barbs
- 88 Archers
- 1 Rage spell (lv5)

Understand that at the upper end of your potential trophy range for your TH level. That most trophies will be gained Offensively, and not defensively.

If your Logging off for the night and are at the top end of your potential trophy range, consider the fact that it might be beneficial to place TH outside and attempt to get a shield to lose ~10 trophies vs getting 2-3 starred for 30+ Trophies. At the end of the day it comes down to netting a positive amount of trophies because at the high end there is a good chance that they will be able to 2/3star you considering the units we have available to use ( Golem, Mass Dragon, etc.)

When attacking with mass dragons look at the position of the ADs and consider using Lightning Strike on the AD that will provide the most available buildings to take out after it's gone. meaning if they have 2 very close to each other on one side and another one covering 40% of the remaining base - take that one out and push from that side.

Check Old Revenges for easy trophy targets as some people that hit your town are going to be farmers with their TH outside.

TOP TEN HINTS FOR TROPHY HUNTING:
  1. Troop Composition: Choose a composition that is cheap but effective (IE: Barb/archer ) Adjust your composition as you move into the higher end on your potential TH trophy range.
  2. Troop Composition: Use Lightning / Rage spells with an Infantry/DPS-Based troop composition and Healing / Rage Spells with Tank-Based troop composition.
  3. Troop Composition: Smart Lightning!! When attacking with mass dragons look at the position of the Air Defenses and consider using 3Lightning Strikes on the AD that will provide the most available buildings to take out after it’s gone. meaning if they have 2 very close to each other on one side and another one covering 40% of the remaining base – take that one out and push from that side. When attacking with Barbs and Archers look at the position of the mortars and take out the mortar with 2 Lightning strikes on the side that you will be attacking from. It is possible to lure CC troops on top of that mortar as well. Take out 2 birds with one stone!!
  4. Base Selection Count how many buildings there are outside the walls vs inside the walls. If the number of buidlings outside is greater than the number of buildings inside use an infantry-based troop composition to easily one-star the base.
  5. Base Selection Look for towns with exposed/ non-centralized Town Halls. If you can’t get 50% of the buildings but have 1 layer of walls protecting a Town Hall, rush it for the easy one star.
  6. Base Selection Look for towns with unbalanced point defenses(Archers/Cannon) and non-centralized splash defenses( Mortars/WizTower). Find the weak side and push through to that TH!
  7. General Understand that at the upper end of your potential trophy range, trophies will be gained Offensively, and not defensively.
  8. General Make sure you keep upgrading your mines/collectors as you level. The benefit of resources gained overnight will cover for searching bases, spells, expensive troops, etc.
  9. General Check Old Revenges for easy trophy targets as some people that hit your town are going to be farmers with their TH outside. In addition, some of those farmers might have an higher trophy range than when they attacked you giving you more trophies than you would normally earn (35-52).
  10. General Elixir is everything!! Gold is just a bonus. Always max out elixir storages before starting a trophy push. Believe it or not, you will need every last bit of it!
